Air France is deploying the Airport Moving Map (AMM) application as a Surface Manager Enabler and the Runway Overrun Prevention System (ROPS) as a Safety Net Enabler.
Air France is deploying both enablers on the A320 and A330 fleet (130 aircraft total) and is upgrading its Full Flight Simulators in order to train its pilots (~2000 pilots) on the ROPS.
Air France selected Lufthansa System to provide the Airport Moving Map application on its Electronic Flight Bag (EFB).
Air France is one of the first airlines to buy the ROPS to Airbus as a key enabler against runway excursion.
On Air France A320 fleet (flying all over Europe) and A330 fleet flying in Africa, America and Asia.
Airport Moving Map Application: In 2017, Air France selected the provider (Lufthansa System) and finalized the requirements. In 2018, Air France will deploy the application on the EFB on its A320 and A330 fleet. Runway Overrun Prevention System: In 2016, Air France started to deploy the Airbus ROPS on its A320 fleet. Air France will finish it in 2018. In 2017, Air France started to deploy the Airbus ROPS on its A330 fleet. Air France will finish it in 2018 Training on Air France pilots is on going and will be done in the course of 2018.
